Evil Genius Beer Company’s 15th-anniversary festival is set for Saturday, October 3, in Fishtown, with Wheatus scheduled to headline. The brewery calendar and PhillyVoice describe different street-closure boundaries: the calendar lists Front Street from Oxford to Palmer and Palmer Avenue from Front Street to Blair Street, while PhillyVoice places the Front Street stretch between Cecil B. Moore Avenue and Palmer Street. Check the brewery calendar for current event information before heading over.
The event is free and open to all ages. Its hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with music starting at noon; dogs are allowed, and food and drinks are pay as you go, according to PHL17 and PhillyVoice. PhillyVoice also reports that nearly 50 local vendors, artists and makers are expected.
Music and anniversary beers
The brewery calendar schedules Kat Rivers & The Second Sight for the opening set, followed by two performances from Tell All Your Friends. Wheatus is listed for 8 to 10 p.m.; the band is marking 25 years since “Teenage Dirtbag” was released, according to the brewery calendar and PhillyVoice. The bill also includes Lunar Pools, Madska, every7years and Disterbenz, as reported by Breweries in PA.
Two beers are part of the anniversary: “Look At This Photograph,” a 6.5% hazy IPA made with 15 hop varieties and conditioned on birthday cake, and “Get In My Belly,” an 11% ABV maple chili barleywine. Breweries in PA reports that the barleywine reached shelves and draft lines on September 25 in 500ml bottles.
