A former Oklahoma school superintendent and athletic director is facing rape and child sex abuse charges tied to allegations involving three separate victims over a seven-year span. Billy Deleplank, 48, of Sallisaw, was arrested Oct. 6 on two counts of second-degree rape, three counts of lewd acts or indecent proposals to a child younger than 16, and one count of pattern of criminal offenses.

Deleplank most recently served as superintendent and athletic director of Bokoshe Public Schools in western LeFlore County, according to nwahomepage.com. Probable-cause affidavits detail a series of alleged acts that took place between 2003 and 2010 involving three separate victims, who were in grades seven through 10 at the time of the alleged crimes. The alleged crimes occurred while Deleplank was employed at schools in Shady Point, LeFlore and Haileyville, according to the same outlet.

Court documents describe some of the alleged incidents as having occurred at a basketball facility, in Deleplank's office at one of the schools, and at locations away from school premises, per the affidavits cited by nwahomepage.com. Deleplank is being held in the LeFlore County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 23.

Resignation and Surrendered Credentials

Deleplank left Bokoshe Public Schools in mid-2025 and was replaced in August 2025 by Dean Armstrong, the outlet reports. The Oklahoma State Department of Education database shows Deleplank's certifications have been surrendered despite not being set to expire until 2028.

The Bokoshe school district had placed Deleplank on administrative leave after allegations surfaced, according to KTUL, which reported, “Mr. Deleplank has been placed on administrative leave.” The Bokoshe school board later accepted his resignation, according to a post from KTUL on X

. The Oklahoma State Board of Education also confirmed that Deleplank voluntarily surrendered his certification, KTUL reported.

Attorney Denies Allegations

Deleplank's attorney has categorically denied that he engaged in any inappropriate relationship with a minor, telling KTUL, “He categorically denies ever engaging in any inappropriate relationship with a minor.” According to the attorney, Deleplank left the teaching profession in 2010 and resumed teaching in August 2015.
