Oconee County deputies had asked for the public's help finding a Fair Play woman facing charges tied to a pair of break-ins, a stolen scooter and firearm, and an alleged scheme to siphon power from a neighbor's home. Investigators say 31-year-old Keri Danielle French was facing charges connecting her to two separate addresses on North Port Bass Drive near Fair Play.

Charges Tied to Two Addresses

According to oconeelaw.com, French was wanted on two counts of first-degree burglary and one count each of grand larceny, theft of utilities, identity fraud and petit larceny. The outlet reports that the crimes involve two separate addresses on North Port Bass Drive near Fair Play, though investigators have not disclosed the identities of the alleged victims or the value of the property involved.

Per the same account, French is accused of breaking into a home and a camper without consent during nighttime hours. Warrants further allege she stole a water hose from one address along with numerous appliances, a television, a scooter, a firearm and clothing.

Allegations of Rigged Power and Stolen Identity

One of the more unusual allegations involves how investigators say French kept the lights on. The report states that French used a power cord to draw electricity, without permission, from a neighboring home in order to supply power to the camper she is accused of occupying.

Investigators also allege that French used another person's name fraudulently in order to obtain electricity, a claim that underlies the identity fraud and theft of utilities charges. Fox Carolina reported that French had been taken into custody in Anderson County Friday evening in connection with thefts investigated in Oconee County.

Known Haunts Span Two Counties

Investigators said French was known to frequent the Port Bass area of southern Oconee County as well as the Belton, Williamston and Pelzer areas of Anderson County, according to oconeelaw.com.

WYFF reported that Oconee County deputies had asked the public to help locate French, who was wanted on multiple charges. The station said anyone with information about her whereabouts was asked to call the Oconee County Sheriff's Office at 864-638-4111.
