Farragut Harvest Fest is coming back to Village Green Shopping Center this Sunday, Oct. 25, from 1 to 5 p.m., and this year's costume contest includes a brand-new category honoring Dolly Parton, the East Tennessee country music star who died in August. The free community event will mix trick-or-treating, food trucks, live entertainment and children's activities along the Kingston Pike corridor.
According to WVLT, the festival is organized by Shop Farragut, also known as the Farragut Business Alliance. The new Farragut's Dolly Parton costume category joins five existing divisions: Best Under 5, Best Pet, Best Group, Judges' Choice and Best Overall. Shop Farragut operates as a 501(c)(6) nonprofit civic organization focused on supporting local merchants and community welfare, according to Shop Farragut.
Costume Judging and Festival Scale
Costume contest judging will take place during the festival.
Food options will include food trucks, farragutpress notes.
Shop Farragut Leadership
Ashley Lynch, executive director of Shop Farragut, said Harvest Fest brings the community together and gives local businesses an opportunity to connect with residents and visitors. Lynch added that organizers are excited to welcome families back for another year of fall fun and believe the new Dolly Parton costume category will add to the festivities, according to WVLT.
Lynch is Shop Farragut's executive director.
A Busy Season at a Familiar Venue
Past Dog Daze events have been among Shop Farragut's gatherings. Village Green Shopping Center on Kingston Pike hosts event merchant booths.
Harvest Fest isn't the only fall gathering on Farragut's calendar this month — the Town's municipal Freaky Friday Fright Nite is set for Oct. 30 at Mayor Bob Leonard Park for trick-or-treaters ages 12 and under, distinct from Shop Farragut's business-driven events.
