Flames shot through the front, main-floor window of a home on Patton Place in Wyckoff Friday night, Oct. 2, with firefighters battling a blaze that may have involved an explosion. Information about injuries had not been released immediately, and officials have not released a cause.
Flames Burst Through Front Window
A separate house fire in Wyckoff sent flames shooting through the second floor Saturday night, Aug. 29, according to News 12 New Jersey. Video from that scene showed intense flames bursting through a second-story window as crews worked to bring the fire under control, the station reported. Separately, DailyVoice.com described the Oct. 2 incident as a reported structure fire at the home on Patton Place that involved a possible explosion, with flames ripping through the front of the house.
The Wyckoff Fire Department shared video showing flames shooting from the front of the home, per the same DailyVoice.com report. Firefighters conducted both ventilation and fire suppression operations at the scene, and mutual-aid crews responded to provide coverage, the outlet noted.
Waldwick Crews Called In to Assist
Firefighters from Waldwick were called in to assist Wyckoff crews in battling the flames. Information about injuries had not been released immediately. Officials have not released information on what caused the fire.
The mutual-aid response echoes a pattern seen in a prior Wyckoff fire. On November 5, 2023, Wyckoff firefighters responded to a structure fire that escalated to a third alarm, with units from 14 surrounding municipalities — including Midland Park, Waldwick, Allendale, Ramsey, Ho-Ho-Kus, Saddle River, Oakland, Mahwah, Ridgewood, North Haledon, Hawthorne, Franklin Lakes, Haledon and Fair Lawn — assisting on scene or providing standby coverage, according to the Ramsey Fire Department. In that 2023 incident, one victim was found inside the home and removed by firefighters so EMS and medics could perform life-saving measures, the department said. The cause of that fire also remained under investigation, with no other injuries reported.
The cause of the 2023 fire remained under investigation at the time of the department's statement.
