A five-piece band out of Maitland, Florida, nicknamed the happiest band on earth, is set to take over Greenville's Radio Room next Thursday night with banjo, saxophone and a reputation for leaving crowds drenched in sweat and smiling. The 502s will perform at the 28 Liberty Lane venue starting at 8 p.m. on October 8, bringing their blend of communal folk energy to the Upstate as part of a tour marking the fifth anniversary of their breakout album.
According to the Greenville Journal, the band's sound mixes Mumford & Sons-style communal energy, Old Crow Medicine Show-style Americana, and the horn-and-percussion-driven exuberance of The Lumineers. The current lineup includes founder, lead singer and banjo player Eddie Isola alongside saxophonist Joe Capati, drummer Sean Froehlich, guitarist Nicholas Melashenko and guitarist Graci Phillips. The group started as a three-piece acoustic folk outfit before adding guitars, drums and saxophone to reach its current fuller sound, per the same report.
A Band Built on Family Ties
The 502s takes its name from 502, the address of the first family home, and cousins were part of the original band, according to C&I Magazine. That family-first dynamic has carried into the band's adult life — the Greenville Journal reports that members still go on vacations and attend weddings together, a closeness that shows up in their live chemistry.
The band's rise from that childhood street to national stages has been fast by any measure. The 502s played their first-ever live concert at the inaugural Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival in Florida in 2016, then returned to the same festival as an established featured act in 2023, according to Wikipedia. Phillips, one of the band's current guitarists, is part of the five-member lineup that will perform in Greenville.
From Viral TikTok Hit to a 26-City Tour
The 502s' commercial breakout came in late 2021, when their track “Just A Little While” went viral on TikTok in student recap videos, pushing the song to No. 3 on Spotify's Top Viral 50 chart and onto Billboard's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart, per First Avenue. That streaming momentum has only grown: the band's album *Could It Get Better Than This* has been streamed more than 150 million times on Spotify, and the current tour celebrates that album's fifth anniversary, according to the Greenville Journal.

The band has brought its high-energy live show to intimate venues. In spring 2024, The 502s headlined the “Great American Road Trip,” a 26-city North American tour produced by Live Nation in support of their self-titled April 2024 album, according to Concerts50. More recently, in September 2025 the band released *Easy Street*, a 13-song beach-themed concept album recorded at Farmland Studios in Nashville that marked their label debut with Big Loud Records, as reported by Country Standard Time.
What to Expect at the Show
Isola, who founded the band and serves as its lead singer and banjo player, has said audiences create a connected, community-type feel at The 502s' shows, which typically run 90 minutes, per the Greenville Journal. He has also said the band wants audiences to leave with smiles and sweaty shirts — a mission statement that doubles as the source of the group's happiest-band-on-earth nickname.
The venue hosting them has grown right alongside the band. Radio Room moved to its current Liberty Lane address in August 2024, expanding its sellable capacity to 490 people in an 8,400-square-foot facility, after starting out in 2011 as a 65-person bar on North Pleasantburg Drive, according to the Post and Courier. The venue's owners planned to host about 18 to 20 shows per month, according to the Post and Courier.
Tickets and event details for the October 8 show are available at radioroomgreenville.com, according to the Greenville Journal.
