Milwaukee is starting Tuesday in a blanket of fog, with visibility reduced during the morning commute before skies clear and temperatures climb into the upper 60s to low 70s. The gray opening is short-lived: a mostly sunny, dry stretch is expected to carry the city through the weekend.
Dense Fog Could Slow The Morning Commute
The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan office issued a Dense Fog Advisory through 9 a.m. Tuesday for Milwaukee and surrounding counties, warning that visibility could fall to a quarter-mile or less. Drivers should slow down, use headlights and leave extra distance between vehicles, especially on darker neighborhood streets and freeway ramps.
Fog is expected to fade by late morning as temperatures rise from the mid-40s into the upper 50s and low 60s. Tuesday afternoon should turn sunny to partly cloudy. Light southeasterly winds are expected after daybreak, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunny, Mild Weather Takes Over
Tuesday night will be mainly clear with a low around 42, followed by another mostly sunny day Wednesday with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Thursday and Friday stay bright, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, while winds remain generally light.
The weekend keeps the mild pattern going: Saturday should reach about 63 under mostly sunny skies, and Sunday could reach around 63 to 65. There is little chance of rain through Sunday, giving outdoor plans a fairly easy forecast after the fog clears.
A little afternoon rain is possible Monday. Monday's broader forecast had mentioned only patchy fog, as Hoodline reported.
