A Brazilian steakhouse known for its all-you-can-eat parade of fire-roasted meats is coming to Lyndhurst. Fogo de Chão has signed a lease to open a restaurant at Legacy Village in 2027, taking over the former Brio Italian Grille space at 24325 Cedar Road.
Crain's Cleveland Business reported on the location, and it marks the chain's second Ohio outpost after its restaurant at Polaris Fashion Place in Columbus, according to Cleveland Scene. The address of the new location was given in a company release carried by Manila Times, which pinned the restaurant at 24325 Cedar Road; Cleveland Scene reports it is slated to open in 2027.
What Diners Can Expect
Fogo de Chão built its name on the Churrasco Experience, an all-you-can-eat feast of fire-roasted meats, Cleveland Scene notes. The Lyndhurst location is expected to center on an open churrasco grill with a 360-degree view, where Gaucho Chefs prepare and carve cuts of protein tableside for diners, per the same account from Manila Times.
Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan framed the move as part of a broader regional push. “We're excited to bring Fogo de Chão to the Greater Cleveland area and continue growing our presence in the Midwest,” McGowan said, according to the Manila Times report.
From Rio Grande do Sul to Nearly 100 U.S. Locations
The chain traces its roots to Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and opened its first American restaurant in Dallas back in 1997, Cleveland Scene reports. Since then, the company has added nearly 100 locations across the country, the outlet notes, with Legacy Village's mix of more than 40 restaurants and retailers, as described in the Manila Times account, serving as its latest address.
Fogo de Chão's own location list, found on its website, already includes Columbus among its Ohio footprint — the restaurant that opened after the company first announced a lease for its debut Ohio spot at Polaris Towne Center, according to Nation's Restaurant News. That Columbus restaurant was planned as a 7,245-square-foot space at 1425 Polaris Parkway, built around an open churrasco grill with a Market Table of seasonal salads, superfoods, cured meats and antipasti, the trade outlet reported at the time. It was also designed with social gathering spaces at Bar Fogo for guests to linger over an all-day happy hour, per the same Nation's Restaurant News account.
A Chain Eyeing Bigger Numbers
The Lyndhurst expansion comes as Fogo de Chão's leadership talks up its financial trajectory. CEO Barry McGowan is confident the chain will hit a 10-figure milestone for systemwide revenue in 2027, according to the Dallas Business Journal. For Lyndhurst, that growth translates into a new neighbor at Legacy Village, where the former Brio Italian Grille space is set to welcome churrasco carts and fire-roasted meats sometime in 2027.
