A former Celina ISD student is facing six felony charges after police say detectives found images of classmates secretly taken inside a Celina High School locker room during the 2025-26 school year. Investigators said four images recovered from the former student's phone involved a total of six other students, and the discovery has resulted in six counts of invasive visual recording.
According to CBS News Texas, the suspect is a juvenile and will not be identified. Police said the former student was also taken into custody for allegedly obtaining pornographic images of children online, though it remains unclear whether separate charges were filed in connection with that allegation. The six invasive-visual-recording counts are classified as state jail felonies, as reported by East Texas Radio.
Texas law addresses this type of offense under Section 21.15 of the Penal Code, titled Improper Photography or Visual Recording, according to the Texas Constitution and Statutes. The case was first reported by The Dallas Morning News, which detailed how the Celina Police Department Criminal Investigation Division handled the probe, including contacting the parents or guardians of the involved students.
Police Say District Fully Cooperated
Police said Celina ISD was fully cooperative throughout the investigation, and the district assisted detectives and complied with reporting requirements tied to the case. Investigators said they found no evidence that anyone else was involved in the alleged criminal activity, including no evidence that any current or former Celina ISD employees took part. The police department said it will not release any additional information about the case in order to protect those involved.
A Separate Celina ISD Case Still Unresolved
The locker room images case comes amid a separate, unrelated Celina ISD investigation from 2025 involving students allegedly being recorded inside a school locker room. In that case, William “Caleb” Elliott, a former Celina middle school coach, was arrested in October 2025 after being accused of recording students in a boys locker room. Celina police identified 38 victims in that investigation, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Elliott was later indicted by a Collin County grand jury on four charges, including possession of child pornography and two counts of sexual performance of a child, both second-degree felonies, according to the same outlet's reporting from February. Police have not said whether the two investigations are connected, and the available evidence does not establish any link between the cases.
