Fort Worth Botanic Garden will wrap up its Hispanic Heritage Month programming on October 18 with Celebramos: Fiesta de Cultura Viva, a full day of mariachi sets, folklórico dancing, children's opera and a quinceañera runway show spread across the Garden's grounds at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd. The celebration folds music, fashion and a vendor market into one day, giving families a single stop to catch several traditions at once.
The Garden describes the event as “a full day of Hispanic music, dance, and tradition,” according to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Mariachi Sangre Azteca is set to perform twice in Fuller Garden, at 10 to 10:30 a.m. and again at noon to 12:30 p.m., per the Garden's published schedule. Fort Worth Opera will stage two short children's performances in the Leonard Courtyard, running 11 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 1:30 p.m.
Quinceañera Style and Folklórico Dancing Take the Stage
A quinceañera runway show is scheduled for 2 to 2:30 p.m. in Fuller Garden, the Garden's calendar shows. Later in the afternoon, Ballet Folklórico de Fort Worth takes over the Leonard Courtyard from 3:30 to 4 p.m. for a folklórico performance. As reported by The Business Press, the October 18 lineup spotlights local musicians alongside the opera and quinceañera presentations as the culminating day of the broader Celebramos festival.
Elsewhere on the grounds, Wandering Roots: Mariposa Market brings handcrafted goods from local artisan vendors to Carter's Grove. The Garden's own calendar lists the market as running 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while The Business Press also lists a 10 a.m. start for October 18 but gives a different closing time; its 9 a.m. listings are for September 19 and 20. Visitors planning to shop may want to confirm hours directly with the venue.
Part of a Two-Weekend Festival
October 18 is the second half of a Celebramos festival that began with a free-admission kickoff on September 19. The kickoff featured a Latin American Flag Parade, food trucks and a DJ dance party. A separately ticketed, 21-and-up Garden Fiesta followed that same night in the Horseshoe Garden, running 8 p.m. to midnight, while September 20 brought a Family Fun and Wellness Day with bounce houses, lotería, chalk art and ice cream trucks.
Admission to the October 18 programming is included with general admission to the Garden, organizers say. The broader Celebramos festival brings together music, vendors and cultural performances.
Check Opening Hours
The Garden has also noted that it will open at noon on a Saturday due to its Fun Run. Visitors planning around scheduled performances should confirm whether that adjustment applies on October 18.
