
A heated argument between two neighbors on Fort Worth's Bright Street erupted into gunfire Thursday morning, leaving one man with a gunshot wound to the stomach and another in police custody. Officers responded to the 3600 block of Bright Street around 10:48 a.m. after 911 callers reported a man had been shot.
Victim Rushed to Hospital in Serious but Stable Condition
According to KERA News, emergency call takers received reports just before 11 a.m. that a man had been shot in the stomach. Fort Worth Fire Department spokesperson Craig Trojacek confirmed the wounded man was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that police released no further details about the man's condition beyond confirming he had been taken to the hospital.
Fort Worth Police Department spokesperson Officer Daniel Segura said the shooting occurred after a verbal argument between two neighbors escalated into gunfire, per the same KERA account. KERA reported that another man was arrested.
