Grass Valley police have arrested four people in connection with the killing of a 51-year-old Sacramento County man at Condon Park, nearly a year after he was found stabbed near the park’s skate facilities. Investigators say the group traveled to the park intending to steal a vehicle, encountered the victim, and demanded his keys. When he refused to hand them over, he was left with a fatal chest wound.
The Grass Valley Police Department announced the arrests of four individuals on October 28, 2026, in connection with the homicide that occurred in Condon Park, according to The Union. As CBS Sacramento reports, officers responded to the park on November 7, 2025, where they found a dead man identified as Jason Allen Frost, 51.
The homicide of Frost at Condon Park occurred on November 7, 2025. Yubanet reported that Grass Valley police detectives were called to investigate the discovery of a deceased adult male in the park on November 8, 2025. Detectives began a murder investigation and worked with prosecutors and investigators from the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office, per CBS Sacramento.
How the Confrontation Unfolded
How the Confrontation Unfolded Investigators say four friends traveled together to the park intending to steal a vehicle in the area, according to the same report from The Union. Police say the group encountered Frost, who is from Sacramento County and was using the park’s skateboarding facilities, and demanded his vehicle keys.
The victim refused, leading to a physical altercation, the outlet’s report states. During that confrontation, police say Frost sustained a lethal injury to the chest from an edged weapon. The offenders then took Frost’s keys and completed the theft of his vehicle before leaving the park around 11 p.m., according to the same account.
Vehicle Abandoned Before Sunrise
From there, the four suspects drove Frost’s vehicle through Placer and Nevada counties, officials say, eventually discarding it near the intersection of McCourtney Road and Indian Springs Road before sunrise on November 8, 2025. Yubanet reported that detectives received assistance from the FBI-Sacramento Evidence Collection Team, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Evidence Team, and the Nevada County District Attorney’s Office as the case was being investigated as a homicide.
As of November 9, 2025, no arrests had been made in the case, Yubanet reported at the time. That changed with the announcement that all four people now facing charges were juveniles at the time of the crime, and that one remains a juvenile, according to The Union’s report. The names of those arrested are not being released at this time, per the same account, and all four were booked into Placer County Juvenile Hall.
What Comes Next in the Case
Formal charges against the offenders, along with petitions to move the case into adult court, were expected to be filed in the coming days, according to The Union’s reporting. The outlet did not specify what those charges would be or confirm whether any such petitions have since been filed.
The case closes out a nearly year-long investigation into what started as the discovery of a body at a popular Grass Valley park and grew into a homicide probe spanning multiple counties. For now, key details — including the identities of those arrested and the specific charges they will face — remain unknown as the case moves through the juvenile justice system.
