Four oversized baseballs, covered in handwritten messages of support for the Milwaukee Brewers, have been planted along Wisconsin Avenue in downtown Milwaukee as the team heads into its playoff run. The painted baseballs are hard to miss as the Los Angeles Dodgers prepare to face the Brewers in the NLCS.
Fans could sign the baseballs at the Milwaukee Night Market.
The Dodgers are Milwaukee's opponent in the National League Championship Series.
The Baseballs' Design
Milwaukee muralist Mauricio Ramirez designed the baseballs, which fans signed with messages of support.
Ramirez's name may already be familiar to downtown workers and visitors — he also created the Mr. Baseball mural honoring Bob Uecker. The baseball installation itself is part of a larger push by Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 to turn the city center into what the organization describes as a sea of blue and gold ahead of the postseason.
A City Dressed For The Playoffs
The decorations aren't limited to the city center.
Postseason banners have also started going up around American Family Field, as reported by CBS 58, with the team preparing for its 2026 playoff run. The station notes the Brewers have also begun selling NL Central championship merchandise after clinching their fourth consecutive division title.
This postseason carries some extra weight given recent history between these two teams. The Brewers reached the National League Championship Series last year, only to be swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are set to face Milwaukee again this year.
