A utility pole came down on Fisher Street in Foxborough, and outages were expected in the area.
The department shared an update titled “Pole down on Fisher Street,” according to the Foxborough Police Department.
Officers are on site to assist with the closure and help direct traffic around the affected stretch of road, per the same post. Residents looking for updates on when power might be restored are being directed to National Grid, which maintains an outage map that it says is updated every five minutes and includes a county-by-county list of estimated restoration times.
Traffic Advisories
The town's police department maintains a dedicated Traffic Advisory page for incidents like downed poles, accidents, and stadium-related road issues, encouraging residents to check there for current alerts.
It's not the first time a utility pole has caused headaches on Foxboro roads this year. Back in September, a rollover crash on Cocasset Street snapped a pole, knocking out power and closing that road between Oak and East Belcher Road, as reported by WHDH 7News.
Police have not said how long the closure or outages are expected to last, so residents in the area are advised to monitor official channels for updates as crews work to clear the scene and restore power.
