Fresno is starting Friday under clear skies near 55 degrees, but the valley is headed for a sunny 89-degree afternoon. The warm stretch continues through the weekend before a sharp cooldown next week, with precipitation chances returning to parts of the region. Mountain travelers, however, face a more serious fire-weather setup today.
Friday Stays Sunny As Mountain Fire Danger Rises
Fresno should remain dry during the day. The National Weather Service in Hanford expects the city to reach about 89 degrees under full sunshine.
A Red Flag Warning remains in effect through 10 p.m. Friday for the Sierra Nevada above 4,000 feet. Stronger east winds and very low humidity will raise the risk of fast-moving fire in those higher elevations, even as conditions remain quieter across the Fresno area.
Weekend Heat Peaks Before A Noticeable Cooldown
Saturday will be another sunny, warm day with a high near 90 degrees, followed by a sunny Sunday topping out around 88. Overnight lows will fall to about 59 degrees Friday and Saturday nights, then dip to roughly 55 degrees Sunday night.
The earlier Hoodline forecast described a gradual warm-up, with highs approaching 90 degrees by the weekend, and the latest outlook now shows the next shift arriving quickly. Monday should cool to around 81 degrees under sunny skies.
Tuesday Turns Cooler
Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high around 82 degrees.
Parts of the region could see precipitation next Wednesday.
