Fresno gets one more wet, unsettled day Thursday before a sharp return to sunshine. Rain is likely through the morning, with showers and a chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon. The high should reach about 68 degrees Thursday.
Rain Through The Commute, Thunderstorms Possible
The National Weather Service forecast gives Fresno a 70% chance of precipitation Thursday. Rain is most likely before 11 a.m., with possible showers and thunderstorms continuing through Thursday afternoon into early evening; a smaller chance of rain lingers into the evening, with less than a tenth of an inch expected locally.
Winds should generally stay light from the southeast at 0 to 5 mph. Near any thunderstorms, though, forecasters warn of gusty, erratic winds — a good reason to bring in the patio umbrella and give exposed outdoor plans a little flexibility.
Fresno Rebounds Into Sunny 70s
Friday turns mostly sunny with a high near 72 and a low around 54. Saturday climbs to about 75 degrees under sunny skies, followed by a sunny Sunday near 78; overnight lows settle in the low-to-mid 50s.
The pattern stays mainly dry through Wednesday, with afternoon highs in the mid-to-upper 70s. That is a substantial turnaround from Thursday’s soggy stretch, and it sharpens the earlier Hoodline forecast, which had already pointed to a wet midweek followed by a weekend rebound.
Mountain Weather Stays More Serious
In the Sierra Nevada, the forecast remains wetter and colder through Thursday evening, with snow likely above 8,000 feet and a 50% to 60% chance of at least 4 inches at higher elevations. A Flood Watch and a Winter Weather Advisory apply to specified zones.
