The calm fall weather will give way to a cooler, wetter Halloween weekend. The city should reach near 70 degrees Thursday under mostly cloudy skies, with light southwesterly winds.
Comfortable Friday Before The Weather Turns
Friday looks similar, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 71 degrees. Overnight lows will settle in the mid-50s, and the National Weather Service office in Hanford says mist or reduced visibility may show up in parts of the San Joaquin Valley before the weekend system arrives.
The bigger change comes late Saturday into early Sunday, when rain is expected to move in. Saturday's chance of precipitation is about 70%. Rainfall totals are expected to stay below a tenth of an inch during the day, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain Could Complicate Halloween Plans
Saturday's high is forecast near 67 degrees, so costumes may need to accommodate expected rain and a noticeable chill.
Precipitation is expected to continue Sunday, with the heaviest falling later in the day and a high near 66 degrees. Northwest winds could gust up to 20 mph. The latest timing is a sharper update to Hoodline's earlier forecast, which had rain developing late Saturday into early Sunday.
Clearer Skies Return Early Next Week
Sunday night will be mostly clear and colder, with a low around 48 degrees. Monday should bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 68, and no watches, warnings or advisories are currently in effect for Fresno.
