Akron is starting Tuesday in the mid-40s with patchy fog possible this morning, followed by partly cloudy skies and a mild afternoon high near 69 degrees. The National Weather Service forecast calls for east winds around 5 mph. It is a chilly opening act for a week that quickly turns unusually warm for late October.
Foggy Start Gives Way To Sunshine
Fog may give way to partly sunny skies. Tuesday night will turn mostly cloudy, with a low around 48 and another round of patchy fog possible after 1 a.m.
Wednesday in Cleveland is forecast to be partly sunny, with a high near 72. The broader Northeast Ohio outlook remains warm and mostly dry, similar to the mild stretch outlined in an earlier Cleveland forecast, though Akron’s updated outlook now extends through the Halloween weekend.
The warm spell is expected to run 10 to 15 degrees above normal for late October, with highs reaching the mid-to-upper 70s by midweek. Some locations could approach record highs on Oct. 29. The National Weather Service said no significant forecast changes were needed in its discussion issued Monday afternoon. The Cleveland office’s forecast discussion describes low atmospheric moisture and high pressure centered in Quebec for Tuesday.
Thursday Could Be The Week’s Warmest Day
Thursday looks like the standout weather day, with sunny skies and a high near 76. That would make for a warm late-October day. Temperatures should remain comfortable Thursday night, with a low around 55; isolated shower chances accompany the cold front late Thursday into Thursday night.
Rain chances remain limited before the weekend: a cold front could bring showers Thursday night, but the better opportunity for rain is expected late Saturday night into Sunday. The timing also favors a mostly dry Halloween night across most of the region. The National Weather Service’s regional outlook says high pressure returns Friday into Saturday before rain chances approach from the west.
Rain Chances Return This Weekend
Friday forecasts call for highs near 72 to 73 degrees. A Saturday forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 71.
Sunday brings a 50 percent chance of showers and a high near 69. No watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for Akron and Summit County.
