San Antonio is waking up to humid air, temperatures around 75 degrees and a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday. Rain chances will linger through the afternoon before easing, while gusty north-northeast winds add a noticeable bite to an otherwise mild fall day.
Scattered Storms Could Hang Around Through Afternoon
The National Weather Service's Austin-San Antonio forecast puts the chance of rain at about 40% through late afternoon, with showers and thunderstorms possible before 4 p.m. New rainfall is expected to stay below a tenth of an inch for most locations, though a few downpours could be locally heavier.
A More Severe October Event
Saturday’s forecast of spotty showers and generally light rainfall differs sharply from a separate event on 30–31 October 2015. The National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio says excessive rainfall during that event caused widespread flash flooding along the Interstate 35 corridor.
Gusty Winds Keep Saturday Feeling Cooler
Saturday's high should reach about 82 degrees under partly sunny skies. North-northeast winds will run 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph, then remain breezy Saturday night as temperatures fall to around 72.
Sunday Stays Breezy Before The Pattern Dries Out
Sunday looks partly sunny with a high near 83 and only a slight chance of rain, but north-northeast winds could gust to 30 mph. The small rain chance fades by Sunday night, setting up a mostly sunny Monday with a high near 85.
Sunny And Warmer From Tuesday Through Friday
The workweek trends quieter and sunnier, with highs near 86 on Tuesday and Wednesday before reaching about 88 Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows should settle mostly in the mid-60s to upper 60s, and the forecast shows little to no rain after Monday.
No watches or warnings are listed for the San Antonio area. For outdoor plans, the best bet is to keep rain gear nearby Saturday and secure loose items before the stronger afternoon and evening gusts arrive.
