The Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force conducted an operation Thursday, October 22, 2026, according to an advisory from the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office posted a community advisory titled “Online Solicitation of a Minor Arrest” via its HCSOTexas account.
account. An adult male allegedly communicated online with someone he believed was a 15-year-old girl and planned to meet her. Henderson was identified as that suspect, taken into custody after the investigation, and charged with online solicitation of a minor, the advisory states.
The Houston-Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force includes the Harris County Sheriff's Office and the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office.
A Task Force With a Track Record
A separate north Harris County sting involving the Precinct 4 Constable's Office's Special Operations Unit, Klein ISD Police Department and the broader task force ended with two men, Gerardo Galvan and Alfonso Garcia, arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor, as reported by FOX 26 Houston. In that case, undercover officers posed as juveniles on social media, and authorities alleged the men traveled to meet investigators they believed were children.
Henderson's arrest fits a pattern seen repeatedly across the Houston area this year. In August, a 54-year-old Alvin man, Pedro Solis, was arrested near Pearland after allegedly sending sexually explicit messages to someone he believed was a 15-year-old girl, who turned out to be an undercover detective with Precinct One's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, according to KPRC 2 / Click2Houston. In April, a Houston Police Department lieutenant, Quoc Viet Ngo, was arrested after allegedly driving to the home of a person he believed to be a 15-year-old girl and sending sexually explicit images to an undercover detective, an investigation conducted by Precinct 1's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Houston-Metro task force, Houston Public Media reported. And in July, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said a man was arrested on two counts of online solicitation of a minor following a separate undercover investigation, according to KSAT.
Conflicting Accounts of the Potential Penalty
Reporting on similar Houston-area cases has described the charge's severity differently. Click2Houston's coverage of the Solis case characterized online solicitation of a minor as a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine, while Houston Public Media's coverage of the Ngo case described the same charge as a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The dossier available for this story does not resolve which classification applies to Henderson's case.
Scale of the Problem Statewide
The volume of referrals tied to this kind of activity in Texas is substantial. Texas law enforcement received more than 234,000 CyberTipline referrals in 2025, including more than 67,700 involving online enticement and more than 65,900 related to the possession, distribution or production of child sexual abuse material, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Multi-agency efforts targeting this kind of crime have produced large-scale results elsewhere in the region. A monthslong Montgomery County operation in 2023 led to 28 people from 17 states being charged with crimes related to the sexual exploitation of children, with 19 children rescued, according to Click2Houston.
