A robotic raccoon with glowing red eyes and exposed mechanical limbs is now roaming free among guests at Hundred Acres Manor, a haunted house. The creature, named CH1PP13, was built by modifying a quadruped robot-dog chassis into a walking animatronic with sharp teeth engineered to move through crowds rather than sit bolted to a stage.

According to CBS News, the creature made its debut at a haunted house this week. The animatronic's construction and interactive design were detailed by Laughing Squid, which reported that quadruped robotics are increasingly being repurposed into active scare actors for haunted attractions rather than staying confined to fixed sensor pads.

CH1PP13 was built through a partnership with Wicked Makers, a YouTube creator duo. WPXI highlighted the team's large online audience as a notable element of the project.

The robot's mobile design allows it to interact with guests around the attraction.

Free to Meet, No Ticket Required

Visitors do not need to buy a general admission walkthrough ticket to see CH1PP13 in action. Totally The Bomb reported that guests can view and interact with the robotic raccoon for free in the haunt's public Midway and Scream Bar areas, a low-barrier way to experience the attraction's new tech centerpiece before deciding whether to pay for the full walk.

For those who do want the complete experience, general admission walkthrough tickets for the 2026 season start at $30 per person, with fast-pass tiers running as high as $90 for Legendary Admission, the same outlet noted. Separate escape room games cost $10 per player.

A Seasonal Haunted Attraction

Hundred Acres Manor is a seasonal haunted attraction.

Hundred Acres Manor isn't the only game in town this October. Kennywood in West Mifflin launched its own Phantom Fall Fest with seven walkthrough haunts and four scare zones this season, underscoring just how competitive the Pittsburgh-area Halloween entertainment market has become heading into the back half of October.
