Henderson police say a welfare check this week led officers to a grim discovery: a man and a woman dead inside a home, in what investigators are calling an apparent murder-suicide. The man found with her remains unnamed as the investigation continues.
According to KTNV, officers responded to a welfare-check request at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 2000 block of Tiger Links Drive. Henderson police initially described both victims only as elderly and did not release their names. A preliminary investigation found that both had apparent gunshot wounds, 8 News Now reported, and investigators believe the man fatally shot the woman before turning the gun on himself.
The woman and the unidentified man were found during a welfare check at a home in the 2000 block of Tiger Links Drive.
Investigation Still Active as Coroner Withholds Final Details
Henderson police have said the investigation remains active and ongoing. The Clark County coroner's office has said it will release the victims' names and the official cause and manner of death only after next-of-kin notifications are complete, according to KSNV.
The case, as KSNV reported, involved detectives from the Henderson Police Department's investigative services division responding to the scene after officers made the initial discovery.
No further details on the man's identity or the circumstances leading up to the shootings have been released.
