Deputies in Hillsborough County arrested two people late Thursday night after catching them hauling scrap aluminum from behind a local business, and a search of their vehicle turned up methamphetamine residue, drug paraphernalia and a loaded syringe. Victoria McQueen, 28, and David Hajipour, 40, were taken into custody at the scene and now face a stack of criminal charges stemming from the encounter.

According to tampafp.com, deputies were conducting a patrol around 11:53 p.m. on October 15 when they spotted the two individuals behind a commercial property. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, in a social media post, said the same thing more plainly: #teamHCSO was proactively patrolling the business when deputies found McQueen and Hajipour behind the building.

Investigators determined the pair had already loaded scrap aluminum taken directly from the business's outdoor storage bins into their vehicle, the report notes. When deputies searched that vehicle, they found more than just metal — methamphetamine residue, drug paraphernalia and a loaded syringe were also discovered inside, according to the same account.

Charges Pile Up for McQueen and Hajipour

Pair Faced Multiple Charges The pair faced multiple charges stemming from the encounter.

Under Florida law, that loitering-or-prowling charge is a second-degree misdemeanor, applicable when someone loiters or prowls under circumstances warranting reasonable alarm or immediate concern for nearby people or property, according to Florida Statute 856.021. Possessing drug paraphernalia with intent to use it with a controlled substance is classified as a first-degree misdemeanor, while transporting paraphernalia for that purpose rises to a third-degree felony, according to Florida Statutes Section 893.147.

Not Hajipour's First Brush With Hillsborough Deputies

This is not the first time Hajipour's name has surfaced in a Hillsborough County theft case. A separate incident involving a David Hajipour centered on a break-in at a Riverview storage facility, where two men were accused of stealing 15 guns, musical instruments and electronics, according to tampabay28.com. The TampaBay28 report lists Hajipour as 31 and co-defendant Joshua Vining as 33. In that case, deputies arrested both suspects and recovered 12 of the stolen firearms, though two AR-15 rifles and a handgun remained missing, and the sheriff's office said Hajipour had been renting the storage unit next to the victim's.

Court dates, bond details and case outcomes for McQueen and Hajipour had not been released as of the sheriff's office's announcement.
