An adult man riding an electric bicycle was struck by a vehicle Monday in the 3000 block of Spears Road near Walters Road, and the driver took off without stopping. Deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 4 were on scene investigating the hit-and-run and urged drivers to use caution in the area.
According to Mark Herman, Harris County Constable Precinct 4, the vehicle believed to be at fault was described as a burgundy Dodge Ram pickup truck. The constable's office said the truck fled the scene without stopping after striking the e-bike rider, leaving deputies to piece together what happened from the scene itself.
Deputies Remain on Scene as Investigation Continues
Constable deputies were still investigating the crash as of Monday evening, with the inquiry continuing on scene, per the same Facebook post. Travelers in the Spears Road and Walters Road corridor were advised to use caution while the investigation was underway.
The Precinct 4 constable's office maintains a Facebook page where it posts live crash updates, and it also runs an Instagram account, @constablepct4, along with the C4 Now mobile app, which offers live feeds on crime, arrests, safety tips, and traffic accidents.
Walters Road Has Seen Trouble Before
Monday's crash is not the first serious incident reported along Walters Road. In 2025, a separate crash was reported in the northbound lanes of Walters Road near Sablechase Drive, prompting those lanes to be closed, according to FOX 26 Houston. Three juveniles were taken to a hospital after that crash, with officials telling the station their injuries were not life-threatening. That 2025 report also cited Mark Herman as its source, though nothing in the available record ties that earlier incident to Monday's hit-and-run on Spears Road.
No information has been released identifying the driver of the burgundy Dodge Ram, and it remains unclear whether the truck has been located. The condition of the man struck while riding his e-bike has also not been disclosed. Anyone with information on the crash or the fleeing driver is encouraged to reach out through Precinct 4's usual channels as deputies continue working the case.
