Honolulu is waking up to mostly clear skies Tuesday, but the trade winds are making their presence known. Isolated morning showers could pass through before the city turns mostly sunny, with temperatures climbing to about 86 degrees.
Morning Showers Give Way To Sunshine
The best chance for rain comes before noon, with only a 20% chance of precipitation in the Honolulu forecast. Showers will favor windward and mountain areas, while conditions across the city become sunnier through the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
Trade Winds Keep Tuesday Breezy
East-northeast winds will run 16 to 20 mph, with gusts reaching up to 28 mph. The wind should ease slightly Tuesday night, when skies remain mostly clear and temperatures fall to around 75 degrees.
Calmer Weather Midweek, More Showers This Weekend
Wednesday looks sunny and warm, with another high near 86 and lighter trade winds. Isolated showers return Thursday and Friday, while the weekend trends cloudier, warmer and more humid with additional passing showers, though forecasters do not expect widespread heavy rain.
Boaters Face Rougher Conditions
A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday for most Hawaiian coastal waters and channels. East-facing shores may also see rougher-than-usual trade wind surf Tuesday before conditions ease later in the week.
