The Charlotte Hornets are rolling out a new premium hangout spot inside Spectrum Center, and it comes with a car inside it. The team has struck a new multiyear partnership with Lexus that hands the automaker naming rights to a freshly built lounge inside the arena, with doors opening to the public Wednesday alongside the Hornets' first preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets.

The deal, reported by WSOC TV, makes Lexus the Hornets' official luxury vehicle and puts the automaker's name on a new space billed as a central hub for fans. Hornets officials said the partnership is designed to give fans an elevated experience at games and events at Spectrum Center, according to the station's report.

What's Inside the Lexus Lounge

The lounge itself will feature an actual Lexus vehicle on display, along with a gifting program for guests, per the same account. It's also set up to host something more exclusive: select postgame player interviews and Q&A sessions, though those sessions are reserved strictly for season ticket members and club guests.

That combination of car displays, branded hospitality and limited-access programming echoes a broader shift happening across NBA venues. Lexus also has a VIP lounge sponsorship at the Clippers' Intuit Dome, as Pollstar News reported.

A Pattern Playing Out Nationwide

In Washington, D.C., Lexus secured exclusive naming rights to a premium hospitality area at Capital One Arena, a deal The Stadium Business reported includes the Lexus Vaults, spaces designed to put fans close to the action with a private entrance and chef-curated menus. Those Vaults are described as the first of eight new premium suite concepts being added as part of venue upgrades there, according to the same outlet. Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which operates Capital One Arena, said Lexus had already been a partner across multiple touchpoints at its arena for several years before that expanded deal was announced.

First Test Comes This Week

The Lexus Lounge gets its public debut Wednesday when the Hornets host Brooklyn in their preseason opener, giving fans their first look at the space before the regular season ramps up. Later in the year, Spectrum Center is also set to host Charlotte and Miami in a play-in game, giving the new lounge another high-stakes night on the calendar.
