Poppin’s temporary retail event is scheduled for a parking lot across from the Javits Center during New York Comic Con, running Oct. 8 through Oct. 11, amNewYork reports. The outlet says the pop-up is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or connected to the Javits Center or New York Comic Con.

Hours and entry

The pop-up is set to open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Oct. 8, 9 and 10, then from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 11. Admission is free for people 21 and older with valid identification. According to amNewYork, an Eventbrite RSVP allows visitors to claim limited-edition merchandise and trinkets.

Products and on-site activities

The reported product selection includes flower, prerolls, vapes and edibles from New York-licensed cultivators and processors Ruby Farms, Fernway, Wyld, Good Tide, Back Home Cannabis, Milkweed, Golden Garden and Revert. AmNewYork also reports limited product drops and special-edition merchandise available only at the pop-up, with preorders available through Leafly and Poppin’s website.

Visitors will also be able to trade trinkets. The event’s activities include a Leafly education and accessory-decorating table, along with making friendship bracelets and decorating lighters, according to the same report.

The owner’s plans

Poppin owner Terran Cooper told amNewYork that the event is intended to make products easier to access for Comic Con attendees and build community. Cooper also said the business is considering recurring pop-ups alongside New York City Comic Con and other large Javits Center events, as well as broader community outreach and community market events.

Poppin operates a licensed cannabis dispensary at 28th Street and 10th Avenue in West Chelsea, according to the High Line 28 Block Association.
