Houston Robbery Figures in Context
Houston Police Department’s Office of Planning & Data Governance listed 1,811 robberies citywide year to date in its April 2025 report, down 16.9% from 2,179 over the same period in 2024, according to its crime statistics report. This citywide comparison does not show how robberies changed in the police beat or council district covering the Jensen Drive address, and it does not establish a trend specific to dollar stores.
Retail Safety and Other Robbery Cases
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends that late-night retail establishments have emergency procedures for robberies and train workers in emergency response, according to its workplace safety guidance. That guidance does not establish what procedures were in place at the Jensen Drive store.
In a separate Houston case, KHOU reported that a convenience-store clerk was assaulted during a robbery on Will Clayton Parkway near the Eastex Freeway on Sept. 27, 2025. Police said the suspect left with a higher-priced item after a dispute over payment; the reported date, location and circumstances differ from the Jensen Drive case.
Cash Reward Available Through Crime Stoppers
Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a cash payment of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the charging or arrest of a felony suspect in the case, per the police bulletin. Anyone with information is urged to call 713-222-TIPS (8477), submit a tip online through the Crime Stoppers website, or use the Crime Stoppers mobile app.
Tipsters must contact Crime Stoppers directly, rather than police, in order to remain anonymous and be eligible for the reward.
