A man was shoved to the ground and robbed of his wallet outside a convenience store on the 100 block of Lockwood Drive in June, and Houston police are now asking the public to help identify the two suspects responsible. Investigators say the complainant was leaving the store around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, when he was approached from behind and pushed to the pavement before his wallet was taken from his rear pocket.
According to the Houston Police Robbery division, the man had just exited the store when suspect number one approached and pushed him, causing him to fall to the ground and experience pain. The suspect then took the wallet directly from the victim's rear pant pocket before both suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction, per the report. Houston police are tracking the case under report number 761665-26.
Cash Reward on the Table for Tips
Crime Stoppers of Houston says information leading to the charging or arrest of any felony suspects connected to the case could result in a cash payment of up to $5,000, the police report notes. Tipsters must contact Crime Stoppers directly, rather than police, in order to remain anonymous and qualify for that payment, the department's post states. Tips can be submitted by calling 713-222-TIPS (8477), through the Crime Stoppers website, or via its mobile app, per the same posting.
Houston police's robbery unit shared the appeal on social media, writing that detectives are seeking the identity of the suspects wanted in the robbery on the 100 block of Lockwood Drive. The division did not release additional details about the suspects or their direction of travel beyond what was included in its written case summary.
Robberies Trending Down Citywide
The Lockwood Drive case comes as Houston has seen a broader decline in robbery reports this year. The city recorded a 34% drop in robberies during the first three months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025, according to Houston Public Media. That decrease outpaced the 20.4% drop reported nationally among the departments included in the same comparison, the outlet reported. Robberies had already fallen 22.6% in Houston from 2024 to 2025, per the same report.
Houston Public Media's analysis also noted that homicides fell 36.4% and rapes dropped 29.9% during the first quarter of 2026, even as 67 people died on the city's roadways during that same three-month stretch compared with 49 murders reported by HPD. For all of 2025, the city recorded 291 roadway fatalities against 268 murders, the outlet reported, underscoring how traffic deaths have outpaced homicides even as violent crime trends downward overall.
Anyone with information about the suspects in the Lockwood Drive robbery is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston rather than police directly, since only tips routed through Crime Stoppers qualify for anonymity and potential reward money, according to the case posting.
