Houston police are asking the public to help identify a suspect in a robbery on the 4300 block of San Felipe Street, an incident that unfolded on Wednesday, September 16, and is only now drawing a public appeal for tips.
Houston police are investigating the robbery, according to Houston Police Robbery.
The case has been logged under investigation number 1175480-26, the department's robbery division said.
Reward Money on the Table for Tips
Crime Stoppers of Houston may pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the charging or arrest of a felony suspect, according to the robbery division's post. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers directly rather than police, since tipsters must go through the organization to remain anonymous and be considered for the cash reward.
This is not the only unsolved Houston robbery case making headlines this fall. Hoodline previously reported that detectives sought a man connected to an aggravated robbery reported June 24 on the 100 block of Yale Street. A third incident, reported by KPRC Click2Houston, described a security guard who said he saw a suspect concealing merchandise and claiming to have a gun before pushing past him around 3:15 p.m. on July 22 on Elgin Street near Fannin. That case occurred at a different time and location.
A Broader Crime Picture in Houston
The San Felipe Street case lands against a backdrop of shifting citywide crime trends. Official city figures show Houston's overall violent-crime volume fell 18.9% during all of 2025 compared with 2024, Hoodline has reported. Still, Houston recorded 49 homicides alongside 67 traffic-crash fatalities during the first quarter of 2026, according to a Houston Defender Network report cited by Hoodline.
The Houston Police Department has also recently completed a transition in how it tracks and reports crime data, shifting from the Uniform Crime Reporting system to the National Incident-Based Reporting System, according to the Houston Police Department. That shift affects how individual incidents, like the San Felipe Street robbery, get classified and counted in future citywide statistics.
For now, the case remains open, and investigators are leaning on the public for leads. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip through its website or mobile app.
