A video appears to show an employee hitting a child at a Jeffersonville daycare, which is under investigation.
The allegation was reported by WHAS11.
The inspection also found that two caregivers at the center lacked required child-abuse training. Proper training in recognizing and responding to child abuse was listed as the resolution for that finding. The same review flagged broader concerns at the facility, including child-to-staff ratios, electrical safety, and classroom materials — issues the station's report says have surfaced in daycare inspections dating back to 2024.
Daycare Remains Open as Police Investigation Continues
The Jeffersonville Police Department told the station its investigation into the incident remains active, though no arrests, charges, or firings have been reported in connection with the case. A former employee of the daycare told the outlet she recognized the person shown in the video as someone she had previously worked for, though the person's identity has not been publicly confirmed.

How Indiana Oversees Child-Care Providers
Under Indiana law, child-care staff and volunteers are required to report suspected child abuse and neglect, per statutes cited by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.
FSSA provides a way to submit child-care complaints.
Similar cases have surfaced elsewhere in recent months. In Georgia, surveillance footage obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution showed an alleged battery of a toddler at a daycare that led to the arrest and firing of a worker. In Florida, WFTV reported that investigators in Marion County said video showed a daycare worker abusing children earlier this year. Those outcomes have not been reported in the Jeffersonville case, where the police investigation remains open and no resolution has been announced.
