InGrano Bistro Bakery is adding a new chapter to its day, launching a daily morning cafe at its West Annapolis location this weekend. The cafe will bring coffee, pastries and a growing breakfast menu to customers starting with a soft opening on Sunday, October 25, running from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The new cafe service is set up at InGrano's existing restaurant location in West Annapolis, according to Eye On Annapolis, which reports the morning offering features coffee, pastries and an expanding breakfast lineup. The soft opening gives customers a first look at a newly designed cafe lounge and a chance to sample the breakfast items before the operation settles into its routine.

Per the same report, InGrano plans to use the first week to refine both the menu and the service as the morning cafe gets off the ground. The addition will give West Annapolis residents another spot to grab coffee and breakfast before the lunch and dinner crowd arrives, filling out the daily rhythm at a restaurant that previously leaned on later hours.

A Growing Footprint in West Annapolis

InGrano describes itself as running a trio of establishments in Annapolis — a historic cafe, a boutique restaurant and a bakery — according to ingranoannapolis.com. The company says its menus and offerings are constantly evolving to reflect its team's creativity and techniques, a pattern the new morning cafe appears to continue.

The West Annapolis restaurant itself sits at 17 Annapolis Street, a location The Banner identified as the former home of Flamant Bistro. That chef-driven boutique restaurant, called InGrano Restaurant & Events, has served dinner only, according to InGrano's own account of its history on ingranoannapolis.com. The morning cafe will extend the brand's presence at that address into the breakfast hours.

From Riva Road to West Annapolis

InGrano's story traces back to chef-owner Adam Pusateri, who has run InGrano Bistro Bakery on Harry S. Truman Parkway since 2020, per The Banner. A native of Annapolis, Pusateri returned to the city in 2019 and began building that original bistro and bakery off Riva Road, according to InGrano's own account on ingranoannapolis.com. InGrano has said its bakery opened in 2020.

The West Annapolis expansion followed the closure of Flamant Bistro, which shut down at the end of 2023 after six years in business. The Baltimore Business Journal reported at the time that InGrano Bistro Bakery was identified as the planned replacement for that space, setting the stage for the restaurant that now hosts the new morning cafe.

For now, InGrano's expansion keeps its focus hyper-local, giving West Annapolis another place to start the day with coffee and pastries before the rest of the menu kicks in. The soft opening on Sunday will be the first test of the new lounge and breakfast lineup, with the first week set aside for ironing out the details.
