Insane Clown Posse is set to headline its 33rd annual Hallowicked concert at Detroit's Masonic Temple on Saturday, Oct. 31, continuing a Halloween tradition the Detroit duo has kept alive in its hometown since 1994. Violent J, born Joseph Bruce, is 54 years old and has spent nearly 35 years building out the group's Dark Carnival mythology, which still anchors the band's live shows and recordings.

According to The Detroit News, this year's performance has only taken place away from Halloween night once in its history — in 1996, when Violent J fractured his collarbone in a professional wrestling match, pushing the show back to December. The tradition also went remote in 2020, when a scaled-down version was staged inside Violent J's Oakland County living room because of the pandemic, according to Yahoo Entertainment. Aside from those detours, Hallowicked has run every year in Detroit since the tradition began in 1994, per the same report.

This year's performance will continue the Hallowicked tradition. Violent J has said the holiday carries mixed emotions for him personally, tying the show to the loss of his girlfriend at a past Hallowicked event.

Tickets Went on Sale, But The Tour Is Slowing Down

Hallowicked's return comes amid a health scare that briefly cast doubt over Insane Clown Posse's future. Violent J has said he is suffering from the more serious form of atrial fibrillation, and according to Rolling Stone, he underwent a defibrillator procedure along with a separate procedure that burned off a scar tied to his irregular heartbeat. He has insisted the health issues will not touch the band's music-making in any way.

Still, the group is adjusting its pace. A 2021 Rolling Stone report said the band planned one more world tour in 2022, spread thin with only three or four shows a week, before settling into a reduced schedule afterward. Even then, the report notes ICP intends to keep playing marquee dates like the Gathering of the Juggalos, Hallowicked, and the Big Ballers Christmas Party, with a show somewhere most months. Per the Detroit News account, the band is capping road trips at no more than two weeks at a stretch, played a dozen festivals this year, and intends to perform only festivals in 2027. Violent J's remaining tour has three shows left, including Halloween.

Five More Joker's Cards Before Retirement

Insane Clown Posse's mythology runs deep. Its first Joker's Card cycle was a seven-album arc that, per Rolling Stone's earlier reporting, introduced and ultimately resolved the secret behind the Dark Carnival allegory — a creative instinct Violent J has traced partly to growing up watching professional wrestling. The Detroit News reports the group has plans for its next Joker's Cards.

The band's calendar beyond Hallowicked stays busy. ICP is slated to perform two concerts at The Vault in Saginaw on Oct. 29 and 30, and Violent J has said the group sold out a show in Cadillac within an hour before returning to sell out another. The Gathering of the Juggalos took place Aug. 19–22, 2026.

Wrestling Side Business Keeps Growing in Saginaw

Violent J's other venture, Juggalo Championship Wrestling, is the promotion's own label for itself, and it has been operating in Saginaw for six to eight months, per the Detroit News report. At The Vault, attendance has climbed fast — the venue's owner told MLive that the first show drew 375 people, and the second jumped to 550. The venue holds up to 1,000, and MLive reported roughly 400 tickets were already sold ahead of a May 23 show, part of the promotion's third consecutive month at that location.

The promotion also has an online presence. New episodes air weekly on YouTube, with a regular Thursday night 7 p.m. slot. Violent J has said he is not currently focused on landing a television deal for the promotion.

Tickets for the show went on sale Friday, May 8, at 10 a.m., according to Psychopathic Records, which billed the night as going down at the legendary Masonic Temple in Detroit.
