Insomniac Events is teaming up with Amsterdam Dance Event to launch a brand-new gathering for the electronic music industry, and it's landing right in the middle of Electric Daisy Carnival's biggest scheduling shake-up yet. The three-day Map Point Summit is set for Las Vegas in May 2027, slotted between EDC's two festival weekends as the carnival expands to a two-weekend format for the first time. It's a notable bet on Las Vegas as more than just a festival stop — organizers are positioning it as a hub for the business side of dance music, too.

According to Billboard, the summit will be held at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, taking place in the window between the two editions of EDC Las Vegas 2027. A separate report from TicketNews describes the inaugural event as based at Hotel EDC, which sits within that same Virgin Hotels resort. The two accounts don't fully agree on which part of the property will actually host the programming, but both place Map Point Summit at the same Las Vegas resort complex.

Per FOX5 Las Vegas, Insomniac has announced the launch of Map Point Summit as a multi-day industry conference featuring keynote speakers, interactive workshops and educational exhibits. The station notes that the creators of Electric Daisy Carnival are expanding their footprint in Las Vegas beyond the festival grounds itself. The summit's name is a nod to the past: Billboard reports it's named for the method ravers once used to find parties during the early days of rave culture, when word-of-mouth map points — not social media — pointed people toward the next dance floor.

A First-of-Its-Kind Partnership for ADE

The announcement came at the end of a keynote conversation at ADE 2026, where Insomniac founder Pasquale Rotella revealed Map Point Summit alongside ADE managing director Jan-Willem van de Ven, Billboard reported. The three-day summit marks ADE's first partnership of this kind and its first event held outside Amsterdam as an exclusive North American partnership, according to the outlet's reporting. The idea, per Billboard, is to combine ADE's established international network with Insomniac's strong North American presence in electronic dance music.

Programming details are still coming together. EDM.com reports the program is expected to include panel discussions, educational sessions, creative workshops and networking, while Festival Insights adds that organizers are planning for global industry delegates, emerging talent, a playable music-tech expo and hosted spaces built for connecting. EDM.com's report also confirms the EDC scheduling split driving the summit's placement: EDC's “Dusk” weekend runs May 14-16, and its “Dawn” weekend runs May 21-23.

EDC's Two-Weekend Expansion

That two-weekend format is itself new territory for EDC Las Vegas. DJ Mag reports the festival is expanding from a single weekend into a broader 12-day program across the city, including pop-up events, parties and an exhibition called Beyond the Rave. TicketNews frames it even more broadly, noting that the wider “Dusk Till Dawn” experience runs May 13-24, extending EDC programming beyond the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and throughout the city.

The stakes for Las Vegas are significant. EDC has helped generate more than $1 billion for the local economy since relocating to the city, according to News 3 Las Vegas, and the station reports more than half a million festival-goers are expected to visit the Las Vegas Valley over the festival's three days. Insomniac has also been building out EDC's footprint well beyond Nevada, with editions now running in Mexico, Colombia, Thailand and South Korea, Billboard notes.

Several details remain unsettled ahead of the 2027 event. Billboard's report indicates registration for Map Point Summit is already open, while EDM.com and TicketNews both report that ticketing information has not yet been announced. Speakers and a full programming lineup also haven't been revealed. For now, the summit stands as a sign that Insomniac wants Las Vegas's biggest dance music week to carry more than just the sound of the main stage.
