Jacksonville Beach police are asking the public to help them put names to the faces of suspects caught on camera during a theft at the Target on Marsh Landing Parkway. Investigators say the pictured suspects made off with merchandise worth $449.99 on Sept. 21 and fled the scene in a Kia SUV.
The department shared the appeal in a post titled “Attempt to Identify” on Thursday, describing it as an effort to find suspects wanted for questioning in a retail theft case, according to the City of Jacksonville Beach Police Department.
How to Reach Investigators
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective E. D. Filbert at 904-877-0730 or by email at [email protected]. The department is located at 101 Penman Road South in Jacksonville Beach; 904-270-1661 is its non-emergency line.
No arrests, charges or additional details about the suspects' identities have been released in connection with the Sept. 21 incident.
A Pattern of Retail Theft Appeals
This is far from the only attempt-to-identify notice Jacksonville Beach police have put out for a retail theft in recent months. In February, the department sought help identifying a suspect in a separate Target case involving merchandise valued at $1,348.99, with surveillance video showing him leaving in a waiting blue Honda bearing license plate BQ647, per Action News Jax.
Police have also pursued cases at other beachside retailers. Investigators sought four people accused of stealing from the Marshalls on 3rd Street South, including an incident on May 29 in which two suspects allegedly took $949.75 in merchandise after one of them distracted store security, according to First Coast News. Separate appeals from the department covered an alleged $1,271 theft at an Ulta Beauty store on 3rd Street South and roughly $216.82 in merchandise taken from a Nordstrom Rack a few blocks away, both detailed by Action News Jax.
A Possible Related Case, With Different Details
A report from Yahoo News also described a Target theft in Jacksonville Beach involving about $649.90 worth of trading cards allegedly hidden in a shopping basket, with the suspect said to have left in a silver or light blue Hyundai Elantra bearing Florida plate FKPZ61. Those details, including the merchandise value and vehicle, differ from the Sept. 21 case described in the department's Thursday post, and it has not been established whether the two reports describe the same incident or separate ones.
For now, the department's ask remains the same as it has been in its other recent appeals: if you recognize the suspects pictured in connection with the Marsh Landing Parkway Target theft, call or email Detective Filbert.
