Two people were hospitalized with injuries described as non-life-threatening after a shooting outside a Jacksonville, Arkansas, strip club on Sunday night. Jeremiah Johnson, 42, of Austin, Arkansas, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including two counts of criminal attempt to commit capital murder.
Officers responded at around 10:51 p.m. on October 18 to 6715 John Harden Drive, the address of Sensations, an adult entertainment club, after reports of a shooting, according to KATV. When officers arrived, they found two victims, who were transported to local hospitals for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities identified the suspected shooter as 42-year-old Jeremiah Johnson of Austin, Arkansas, the station reported. Jacksonville police did not have to go far to make the arrest: deputies with the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office responded to Johnson's residence, where he was taken into custody.
Charges Pile Up Against Johnson
KATV reported that Johnson was booked on two counts of criminal attempt to commit capital murder, nine counts of unlawful discharge of a firearm from a moving vehicle, four counts of terroristic act, one count of first-degree criminal mischief, and possession of a firearm by certain persons.
Authorities have not publicly identified the victims or described a motive or the weapon involved, according to the reports cited here. The number of charges alone does not establish how the shooting unfolded.
A Separate Shooting Report in Lonoke County
A separate report offers limited context, not a countywide comparison: KARK reported on April 28, 2025, that Arkansas State Police responded to an alleged road-rage shooting on westbound Interstate 40 near Mile Marker 175 in Lonoke, involving a Houston man accused of firing at another driver. That report concerns a different incident and provides no countywide totals or offense definitions that would establish a trend or allow comparisons among firearm-related offenses in Jacksonville or Lonoke County.
Investigation Continues
Jacksonville police have confirmed the investigation remains ongoing, according to KARK, leaving several questions unanswered for now, including what prompted the gunfire and the current condition of the two people who were hurt. No booking, bond, or court-appearance details have been released as the case moves forward.
