Jammyland Cocktail Bar & Reggae Kitchen in downtown Las Vegas' Arts District has gone full crypt mode this fall, trading its usual reggae-soaked vibe for giant spiders, tentacled surfaces and a menu built around the macabre. The transformation comes courtesy of the Black Lagoon pop-up, an immersive haunted cocktail experience that has taken over bars across North America and landed at the Main Street spot for its second straight Halloween run.
According to KSNV, the pop-up transforms Jammyland into an immersive haunted cocktail destination, complete with cinematic lighting, eerie soundscapes, collectible glassware and a menu of Halloween-inspired drinks. The station describes the experience as nationally acclaimed, and Jammyland head bartender Amber Castillo joined KSNV's ARC Las Vegas and reporter Evan Schreiber to mix up some of the Halloween-inspired creations on air.
There's some murkiness around exactly how long the spooky season lasts at Jammyland this year. KSNV reported the pop-up running from now through Friday, November 13, while Black Lagoon's own locations page lists the Jammyland engagement running October 1 through November 2 — a discrepancy that hasn't been resolved between the two sources. Black Lagoon notes on its site that each of its locations manages its own hours and reservations independently, so anyone planning a visit may want to confirm details directly with the bar.
A Crypt Takeover Two Years Running
This isn't Jammyland's first brush with the Black Lagoon treatment. Per Las Vegas Weekly, the pop-up ran at the same bar through November 3 last year, turning the dark, airy Arts District space into what the outlet called a proper crypt, with giant spiders in the rafters, tentacles draped over surfaces and what staff referred to as skulls on skulls. The soundtrack reportedly leaned into punk, garage, goth, metal and psychobilly to match the mood.
Black Lagoon itself traces back to Toronto, where it was born in 2021 before expanding to venues across the United States and Canada, the Las Vegas Weekly report notes. Jammyland sits at 1121 S. Main Street in the city's Arts District, a neighborhood that has become something of a proving ground for themed seasonal pop-ups. The bar's reggae kitchen roots remain part of its identity even as the Halloween overlay reshapes the room each fall.
Not the Only Haunted Bar in Town
Jammyland isn't alone in leaning into the season's darker aesthetic. Across town at 3355 Spring Mountain Road, The Haunting on Spring Mountain has set up its own Halloween cocktail pop-up inside the Sand Dollar Lounge, according to the event's own site. That pop-up serves fall-inspired holiday cocktails in a spooky setting, pairing spooky drinks with live music and dark décor, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation required.
Other outlets have chronicled the Black Lagoon takeover as well. KTNV described the pop-up at Jammyland Cocktail Bar & Reggae Kitchen as an immersive Halloween experience packed with bold, themed drinks and over-the-top décor, reinforcing the picture of a bar fully committed to the season's haunted-house energy. For now, the safest bet for visitors is to treat the pop-up as an active fall fixture in the Arts District and check directly with Jammyland for current hours before heading over.
