Jersey City authorities are asking the public to help identify a man after a reported sexual assault on Wallis Avenue. The incident was reported shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, according to Daily Voice.
As reported by Daily Voice, the victim told police an unknown man followed her for several blocks before the assault occurred. Prosecutor Mello said the attack happened on Wallis Avenue, placing the timeline and location at the center of the investigation into who approached the woman that evening.
Description of the Person of Interest
Authorities have released limited physical details about the man they are trying to identify. He is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with dark facial hair, according to the same report. Beyond that description, officials have not disclosed additional identifying characteristics.
Prosecutors have also released a photo of the person of interest in hopes that someone in the community will recognize him, as noted by Daily Voice. The image is part of a broader appeal from Jersey City authorities, who are asking the public to help identify the man wanted in connection with the sexual assault.
