Nathan Mayo, 44, was charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography after Harris County authorities investigated files associated with an online account and searched his northwest Houston apartment near Jersey Village. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted the counts, according to the report.
Investigation Traced Files to an Online Account
The account of the investigation comes from FOX 26 Houston. The station reported that Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received information about child sexual exploitation media files in an online account. Authorities identified Mayo as the alleged source of the files, the report said.
According to the station, constable’s office detectives searched Mayo’s apartment on Seattle Slew Drive under a warrant and recovered multiple electronic devices. The residence is in northwest Houston, near Jersey Village.
Search Warrant Describes Ages of Children in Files
The search warrant, as described in the report, said investigators found multiple files on devices and accounts linked to Mayo. It alleged that the files depicted child sexual abuse material and children ages 7 to 13.
The station also reported that court documents described Mayo as a client management computer analyst at Memorial Hermann Health System and that his bond was set at $300,000.
What CyberTipline Reports Measure
For national context, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children says more than 2 million CyberTipline reports in 2025 resolved to the United States, including all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories. That national figure does not show how many reports originated in Texas; it counts reports, not confirmed offenses or local prevalence, and says nothing about the number of offenses in this case.
The case remains an active matter following the arrest, with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office having accepted the three counts of possession of child pornography against Mayo. No additional details about Mayo’s legal representation, plea, or next court setting were available in the reporting.
