Lakewood Ranch now has its own JETSET Pilates studio, a 2,400-square-foot space at 8386 Market St. packed with 16 reformers. The opening marks the brand's first foray into the Sarasota-Bradenton market, and it arrived with roughly 300 founding members already on the roster.

The studio is the fifth Tampa-area location for Pure Form Studios, according to SRQ Magazine. The local development group is led by co-owners Lauren and Patrick Christopher, who also operate studios in downtown Tampa, South Tampa, Carrollwood and Westchase. Per the same account, the rollout began with two weeks of complimentary preview classes starting October 3, a grand opening celebration on October 17, and regular paid classes from October 18.

Ribbon Cutting, Meet-and-Greets and a Local Team

In a news release distributed by PR Newswire, JETSET said Pure Form Studios marked the opening with a ribbon cutting, luxury brand experiences and instructor meet-and-greets. The celebration included Bentley Sarasota, House of Etch, Caviar Social, Balloon Bar and Reform Coffee. The studio had already built a local following through community events, including Puppies & Pilates.

The release says the studio is staffed by a locally hired team led by its general manager and supported by Pure Form leadership. It is expected to create approximately 30 local positions, from general managers and studio leads to community leads and certified instructors. Across its JETSET locations at full buildout, the Pure Form portfolio is projected to support approximately 450 positions.

Lauren Christopher said in the release that Lakewood Ranch is a natural next step in the growth story across Tampa. She also said the studio is bringing a social, wellness-driven community to a market ready for it. JETSET Lakewood Ranch plans to host member experiences, seasonal activations, charitable initiatives and local-business collaborations.

What a JETSET Class Looks Like

The Lakewood Ranch location offers 50-minute dynamic Pilates sessions on custom reformers, according to the studio's own page. The release describes the format as an intense, music-driven workout paired with a premium studio experience, blending strength, cardio and Pilates-inspired movements into a full-body session.

The studio is part of a development agreement for 15 JETSET studios across Tampa and Sarasota, per the release. Pure Form Studios is also evaluating St. Petersburg and other high-growth submarkets for future openings.

A Brand Growing Fast, and Far From Florida

JETSET was founded in Miami in 2010 and began franchising in 2022, according to the release. Bertus Albertse, president and CEO, called Lakewood Ranch's opening an exciting milestone for the brand. The company also offers a certification program through the JETSET Training Academy.

Reported size figures for the brand vary by source and date. JETSET's own release cites more than 400 studios open or in development across the U.S., U.K. and Australia, while Fitt Insider cited more than 304 studios open or in development globally in a September piece. Richmond BizSense reported that the brand had 70 open locations as of mid-July.

Elsewhere, the brand has been busy. Franchising.com reported that JETSET announced its first Bay Area studio in Santa Clara, with preview classes set to begin August 10 and a grand opening planned for August 29, and Fitt Insider says a second London studio in Fitzrovia was scheduled to open on October 27. Richmond BizSense adds that a Midlothian, Virginia, studio is slated for early 2027.
