John Legend is swinging through Baltimore next week, with the Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer set to perform at a record store in the city's Fells Point neighborhood on Tuesday. The appearance comes after his new album with longtime friend Pharrell Williams is released Friday.
According to The Baltimore Sun, which reported the appearance, Legend's Fells Point stop follows the release of his latest album, Muse. The outlet's report was published Thursday, October 22, 2026.
A Long-Awaited Pairing With Pharrell Williams
Muse, due out Friday, October 23, marks the first full-length album Legend and Williams have made together after more than two decades of friendship, per WBAL. The 16-track project represents a milestone collaboration between two artists who have circled each other's orbits in music for years without putting out a joint full-length until now.
Legend describes the record as having a “Black James Bond aesthetic,” according to NPR. That framing shows up across the album's sound, which Apple Music describes as drawing on funk and gospel, Afrobeat and spy-flick flair, hip-hop and “Taps.”
How the Album Came Together
Much of Muse was recorded at Williams' studio inside Louis Vuitton's Paris headquarters, as reported by ABC News. During the sessions, Williams reportedly pushed Legend toward a looser, more conversational delivery on parts of the record, encouraging him to “let it do more talking than singing” on certain tracks, per the same WBAL report.
Beyond the album rollout, Legend has another major project in the works. He is composing his first original stage score for Imitation of Life, a new musical set to open at The Shed in New York in December, according to the WBAL report.
For Baltimore music fans, Tuesday's record store appearance offers a rare chance to catch Legend up close in a Fells Point setting, four days after Muse reaches shelves and streaming services. Further details about the event were not available at the time of publication.
