Disney Springs is getting its first-ever dedicated slime shop. Kawaii Slime Company announced it is heading to the Marketplace section of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district at Walt Disney World, with the brand confirming the move in an Instagram post shared alongside Disney Springs.
A joint Instagram post from Kawaii Slime Company and Disney Springs announced the move, but it did not include a specific opening date or the exact storefront location within the Marketplace. According to Laughing Place, the joint video post from Kawaii Slime Company and Disney Springs broke the news Saturday, though it left open whether the new location will be a small kiosk or a full brick-and-mortar store.
Once it opens, the shop will mark the first comparable slime store anywhere at Walt Disney World, since Disney Springs currently has no other store like it. The brand's only existing Disney footprint is a stand at Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort in California, where guests can build custom slime creations with their own colors, scents, and charms.
From Henderson Sensory Roots to the Disney Parks
Kawaii Slime Company traces its origins to December 2017, when founder Roxanne Robertson launched the business in Henderson, Nevada, after exploring sensory play with her own family. The brand name blends the Japanese word for cute, kawaii, with its sensory-focused products, and Robertson started the company after later discovering two of her children were on the autism spectrum, according to a report from edplay.
The company manufactures its entire product line in-house at its Henderson headquarters, producing hundreds of SKUs including sensory squishies and DIY craft kits. The company distributes through specialty retailers and experiential retail partners, while also selling through its own online shop and subscription service. The brand emphasizes a hands-on, physical-first retail approach.
That strategy first extended into the Disney universe in October 2024, when the Kawaii Slime Cart opened at the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort, as Daps Magic reported at the time.
A Changing Marketplace Within Disney Springs
The announcement adds a prospective new tenant to Disney Springs.
Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill permanently closed at Disney Springs on September 13, ending a nearly 29-year restaurant presence for the chef at Walt Disney World, as Hoodline previously reported.
For now, slime fans eager for a Florida outpost of Kawaii Slime Company will simply have to wait for Disney Springs or the brand to share more specifics on timing and location.
