The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club has unveiled a new waterfront hotel just off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Stevensville, adding 32 rooms to the Kent Island resort's lodging lineup. The property, called Wilson's Cove, sits on the banks of Hinckley Bay Bridge Marina and marks the resort's second hotel.

According to The Business Journals, the project is described as a $10 million waterfront hotel, though WBAL-TV reported the 32-room hotel was estimated to cost more than $10 million. Each of the 32 coastal-inspired guest rooms includes a private balcony overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, per the resort's own description of the property on baybeachclub.com. The hotel sits between The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club and the resort's waterfront event venue, the station's report notes.

Adding 32 Rooms to the Resort's Room Count

Wilson's Cove is expected to expand the Beach Club's guest-room portfolio from 77 to 109 rooms and suites, a jump that reflects how far the property has grown since it first opened in 1999 and expanded into a comprehensive resort, according to the same account from baybeachclub.com. The resort, situated on Kent Island along the Chesapeake Bay, employs more than 300 full- and part-time workers, per the same source.

Amenities at Wilson's Cove include a pool, an expansive lawn with firepits, lawn games and relaxed seating, and a fourth-floor rooftop lounge called Vue, the resort states on baybeachclub.com. Every room and suite is planned to feature a private balcony and Chesapeake Bay sunset views, the HdG Beacon reported. The hotel was designed by DAS Architects and Interiors of Philadelphia, with Willow Construction of Easton handling the build, according to The HdG Beacon.

A Different Guest, a Wider Market

Resort leadership has described Wilson's Cove as aimed at a different type of visitor than the Beach Club's existing hotel, which is typically booked by guests attending a wedding or corporate retreat. The new hotel is geared more toward leisure travelers, WBAL-TV reported, citing resort officials who said it would give guests direct access to the water and open the door to weekend getaways and staycations.

“We think this will help us compete more on a regional level compared to a local level,” a resort representative told WBAL-TV. That shift mirrors the comparison the station drew between the Beach Club's existing 77-room hotel and events venue and the leisure-focused approach planned for Wilson's Cove.

Timing and Fees Still in Flux

Opening timelines for Wilson's Cove have varied across coverage. WBAL-TV reported the hotel was slated to open the following summer, while The HdG Beacon reported the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club anticipated opening Wilson's Cove in July 2026. The resort's current website now markets Wilson's Cove accommodations directly to guests.

Guests booking any room at the Beach Club, including Wilson's Cove, face a daily resort fee of $14 plus tax from January 1 through March 31 and $24 plus tax from April 1 through December 31, according to the resort's accommodations page. That fee structure applies resort-wide, covering both the original 77-room hotel and the newly added waterfront rooms at Wilson's Cove.
