Kettering police are asking the public to help put a name to a face after someone allegedly stole from the Petco at Town and Country earlier this week. Investigators say the theft happened Monday, and they've released a photo of the person they're trying to identify, calling it the clearest image they currently have of the suspect.
According to the Kettering Police Department, the suspect pictured in the post is wanted in connection with a theft from the Petco at Town & Country that occurred on October 26. As reported by Yahoo News, police described the shared photo as the best-quality image available, suggesting it may not offer a crisp look at the person's face or features.
Police have not released details about what was allegedly taken from the store or how the theft unfolded. For now, the case remains an open appeal for tips from anyone who recognizes the person in the photo.
How to Report a Tip
Anyone with information is asked to call Ptl. Karolyi at 937-296-2555 and reference report number 26-039323, per the same account from Yahoo News. Kettering police have not indicated whether additional evidence beyond the photo and report number has been made public.
This is not the only recent theft case in Kettering drawing a public appeal for help. In September, the Kettering Police Department sought a suspect after a theft at TJ Maxx, with tips directed to the same police line, according to WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio.
Pattern of Recent Theft Appeals in Kettering
That same month, Kettering police said they were looking for a person accused of stealing from a local Kroger twice within a single month, as detailed by WHIO. Days later, the department also sought help identifying someone accused of stealing from a local Speedway, according to a separate WHIO report.
It's not clear from available information whether any of those earlier September cases are connected to this week's Petco incident. Kettering police have treated each appeal as its own standalone case, with separate report numbers and photos shared publicly in hopes a tipster can help close the loop.
