Kentucky hardcore outfit Knocked Loose and South Florida rapper Denzel Curry bring their joint Hive Mind tour to Orlando Amphitheater this Friday, October 16, with a bill that also features Superheaven and Boundaries. The pairing sounds unlikely on paper — punishing breakdowns next to rapid-fire bars — but it has already sent crowds into chaos at stops across the country this fall.
The collaboration began with “Hive Mind,” the single Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry released in February, which blends Knocked Loose’s metalcore sound with Curry’s rapid-fire delivery and trap influences, according to NME. Rolling Stone described the track as one that blends Knocked Loose’s heavy riffs with Curry’s rapid-fire bars, and the song is listed on the band’s own Bandcamp page as Hive Mind, featuring Denzel Curry. Per the same NME report, it marked Knocked Loose’s first new music since their 2024 album, “You Won’t Go Before You’re Supposed To.”
A Surprise Brooklyn Debut Set the Tone
After tour dates were announced, Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry performed “Hive Mind” live together for the first time at a surprise show at Substance Skatepark in Brooklyn, as reported by Consequence. NME reported that the packed skatepark descended into a mass of moshing and crowd-surfing during the set. That same report quoted Knocked Loose vocalist Bryan Garris explaining why Curry was the only choice for the collaboration: “it would have to be Denzel Curry. Because he gets it.”
Orlando Weekly, previewing the Orlando stop, notes that Denzel Curry has drawn on punk and metal aggression in his performances for years, and that Knocked Loose did not soften its sound to accommodate the tour, according to Orlando Weekly. The outlet also reports that fans at earlier tour stops described near-continuous mosh pits, crowd surfers and chaotic performances from both acts.
Tour Length Disputed, Route Spans the Continent
The full co-headlining trek is billed as a North American run that kicked off September 26 in Newport, Kentucky, with Superheaven and Boundaries serving as openers throughout, according to Loudwire. Exactly how many stops the tour includes is a matter of dispute among outlets: Loudwire and NME each describe it as a 24-date run wrapping in Mexico City on November 8, while Revolver characterizes it as a 25-date stretch that hits both coasts of the United States and reaches into Canada and Mexico. Loudwire also notes that Knocked Loose is currently touring Europe separately, opening for both Metallica and Bring Me the Horizon.
Chicago Stop Offered a Preview of What Orlando Could See
A recent tour stop in Chicago gave a sense of what Central Florida fans might expect Friday. Knocked Loose made its fourth stop of the Hive Mind tour at the Salt Shed on a rainy night at the end of September, per a report from Stage Riot Media, which described it as a near-sellout crowd despite the weather. The band opened with “Deep in the Willow,” and the same report says the crowd erupted as mosh pits opened almost immediately. During his own set, Denzel Curry leaned into cover territory, with the outlet calling his Rage Against the Machine covers the highlight of the night.
Fans had reportedly clamored for Knocked Loose and Denzel Curry to tour together even before dates were confirmed, and the Orlando stop gives Central Florida its turn at a bill built on volume and contrast rather than genre comfort. Doors and showtimes beyond a scheduled 6 p.m. start were not independently confirmed across all listings, but the Hive Mind tour’s arrival at Orlando Amphitheater this Friday marks one of the more unusual co-headlining pairings to pass through the city this year.
