A construction timetable is taking shape for La Marquerida at 1801 Rodd Field Road, but it does not yet establish when the restaurant will open. WhatNow reports that the project is a 4,089-square-foot build-out across Suites 107 and 108, with Jonatan Salas listed as the tenant. The reported schedule runs from October 5, 2026, to April 5, 2027.
The reported build-out estimate is about $108,000, and the work is privately funded, according to WhatNow. Those figures describe the planned construction project; they do not confirm a menu, an opening date or the status of required approvals.
Construction and permission to operate are separate milestones
Corpus Christi’s rules provide some context for what can follow a restaurant finish-out. The City of Corpus Christi says a first-time interior finish-out of a shell building or suite receives a new certificate of occupancy. That is a general requirement, not evidence that La Marquerida has applied for or received a certificate.
Food-service requirements are another step to keep distinct from construction approvals: the Corpus Christi–Nueces County Public Health District says food establishments serving the public must obtain an annual permit and be inspected. The district’s page does not show whether La Marquerida has applied for a permit or undergone an inspection.
For now, the reported April 2027 construction target is the clearest date attached to the project—not a promise that diners can visit then. WhatNow has not reported what cuisine the restaurant will serve or when it plans to open.
