LaMelo Ball has put his Uptown Charlotte condo on the market for $2.6 million, listing the Trust building unit just months after the point guard's trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The roughly 3,495-square-foot home comes with four bedrooms, four and a half bathrooms, a private terrace and skyline views overlooking the city Ball once called home as a Hornet.

A Condo With Hornets History

Ball listed one of his two condos in the Trust building for sale, according to Axios, which reports the unit spans 3,495 square feet with four beds and four and a half bathrooms. Inside, the outlet describes high ceilings, expansive windows, marble floors, wine storage and a custom bar. The home also comes with two guaranteed parking spaces in the garage, Axios reports.

The listing traces back to former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who originally bought the unit. Ball had leased the condo since 2020 before purchasing it from Newton outright, according to the Charlotte Observer. Newton had bought the condo for $2.1 million in 2015, per the same report, which describes the unit as 3,300 square feet — a figure that differs from Axios's 3,495-square-foot description of the listing. Mecklenburg County values the condo at $1.9 million, the Observer notes.

An Off-Market Deal and a Second Unit

Ball purchased the condo from Newton for $2.47 million in 2024 through an off-market deal, according to an exclusive report from Yahoo. That asking price of $2.6 million now sits above what he paid for it two years ago. The outlet describes the Trust as a boutique property housing just seven private residences altogether.

The listing isn't Ball's only stake in the building. He also purchased a third-floor unit for $2.2 million in 2023, according to Charlotte Business Journal, meaning he owns a second condo in the same Uptown tower beyond the one now for sale. The current listing is represented by Erika Mendoza of Coldwell Banker Realty, the Yahoo report states.

From Charlotte to Minnesota

The listing comes after Ball's July trade to the Timberwolves, which ended his six-season run with the Hornets. In his final year in Charlotte, Ball averaged 20.1 points, 7.1 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game across 72 appearances, according to Yahoo's report.

The Trust tower itself has a history that predates its current run of NBA and NFL ownership, having opened in 1967 as the Federal Savings and Loan building, per the Observer. Another Uptown unit in the same building hit the market at $4.8 million in 2024, according to Charlotte Business Journal, underscoring the building's standing among the city's priciest downtown addresses.
