Pasco Sheriff's deputies are searching for Desiree Towns, a missing and possibly runaway 16-year-old girl, after she was last seen Tuesday night in Land O' Lakes. Deputies say Towns was spotted around 8:45 p.m. in the Butterfly Landing Drive area, and investigators are now asking the public for help locating her.
According to the Pasco Sheriff's Office, Towns stands about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She has dark red hair and blue eyes, deputies said, details that are being circulated as investigators work to track her down. The sheriff's office described her case as a missing or runaway situation involving a minor, according to a missing person notice posted by the agency.
What Desiree Towns Was Last Seen Wearing
Deputies said Towns was last seen wearing a black shirt, a black jacket decorated with sparkle crosses, and black jeans with cutouts. The notice from the sheriff's office pairs that clothing description with her physical details in hopes that someone in the community recognizes her. The report was also covered by the Tampa Free Press, which relayed the same search notice from deputies.
No additional details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance have been released, and it is not yet known whether she has since been located. The search centers on the Butterfly Landing Drive neighborhood of Land O' Lakes, where she was last seen Tuesday evening.
