Tammy Bishop married Will Mulroy at Viva Las Vegas Chapel on October 20. Three days later, he was dead. Now the South Dakota widow is left hoping a stranger somewhere along the Las Vegas Strip will find the blue metal wedding band her husband lost on their wedding night and send it home.
Clark County Marriage Statistics
The Clark County Clerk publishes marriage-license and marriage-certificate statistics by month and year, allowing readers to compare counts across those periods. The Clerk cautions that the figures may fluctuate because of corrections or other administrative changes.
FOX5 reported that the couple celebrated on a party bus and toured the Strip. During the festivities, Mulroy noticed his ring was missing. Bishop said he had told her it was two sizes too big after he lost weight. She thought it might have slipped off on the bus or as he moved into his wheelchair, according to the station’s report.
Bishop described the wedding day as perfect and said Mulroy was on cloud nine. The couple and others retraced their route and contacted the bus driver, but the ring was not found. “We backtracked our steps. We told the bus driver. We had everyone looking. We couldn’t find it,” Bishop told FOX5.
A Relationship Reshaped by a Motorcycle Crash
Bishop told FOX5 Las Vegas that she and Mulroy met in July 2023 and made their relationship official in March 2024. A week later, she said, a motorcycle crash left him paralyzed. He continued asking her to marry him, and she agreed this past summer.
Bishop said Mulroy told her on her October 4 birthday that he had planned and booked a Las Vegas wedding, with her friends in on the surprise. FOX5 reported that Mulroy worked at Fleet Farm, had previously worked with party buses, and that the couple planned to start a party bus business together.
A Sudden Decline After the Wedding Trip
Bishop said Mulroy was in a lot of pain on the way home from Las Vegas and mentioned going to the emergency room as soon as they got back. The next morning he was so congested that she told him not to go to work. Not long after, she said she could not wake him and called 911.
Bishop said doctors declared Mulroy brain dead at the hospital. He was on life support for 24 hours, she said, and his heart stopped three times in the emergency room. He died three days after the couple’s wedding.
What the Ring Means Now
Bishop said she was initially angry and that she and others searched their route again without finding the band. She described the ring as a symbol of Mulroy and their relationship and said she hopes someone who finds it will send it back to her.
