Weddings at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel are taking a spooky turn this week, with themed ceremonies running all the way through Halloween and a packed schedule that includes Dracula, Beetlejuice, Gomez Addams and Chucky standing in for the usual officiant. Halloween itself is shaping up to be the chapel's busiest day of the year, with couples able to say their vows every 30 minutes from 9 a.m. until midnight.
Back-to-Back Ceremonies All Day Long
According to FOX5 Vegas, the chapel has lined up ceremonies every half hour on Halloween, making it the single busiest day on its calendar. The chapel also offers Halloween-themed weddings. Couples who want more than a quick ceremony can also choose to be married by characters including Chucky, Beetlejuice, Freddy Krueger or the Grim Reaper, per a report from news3lv.com.
The horror theming goes beyond the officiant. Smoke and fog feature in the chapel's theatrical productions. Couples looking for a keepsake can pick from themed bouquets, and a hearse will be parked outside on Halloween specifically for post-nuptial photos, both details confirmed in the same FOX5 Vegas report cited above.
150-Plus Themes and a Cult Classic Favorite
Halloween is just one slice of what the chapel offers year-round. Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel has more than 150 themed wedding experiences on its menu, according to rocknrollbride.com, which notes that dedicated sets, lighting design, smoke and fog effects, and theatrical entrances are built into the experience regardless of the theme a couple picks. Among the longest-running options is a wedding inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which the chapel has offered for more than 20 years, according to broadwayworld.com. That package includes neon lips, interactive characters and atmospheric smoke effects designed to recreate the cult film's midnight-movie energy.
The chapel's own Halloween package page describes a full slasher production complete with a live Michael Myers impersonator, fog and horror staging, according to vivalasvegasweddings.com. That same listing details extras bundled into the package, including a round-trip courtesy limo for up to six passengers, 10 high-resolution ceremony images and a professional videographer with a digital ceremony video.
Watching From Home via Livestream
Couples and curious onlookers who can't make it to the Strip in person can still watch the action unfold. FOX5 Vegas reports there's an EarthCam stream on the chapel's website showing the ceremonies as they happen. The EarthCam stream has more than 21 million views.
Halloween Weddings Are Catching On Citywide
Viva isn't alone in capitalizing on the season. Other Halloween-themed wedding offerings are available up and down the Strip. Lucky Little Wedding Chapel has a package that accommodates up to 26 guests, while the Little Vegas Chapel offers an Our Killer Wedding ceremony performed by Michael Myers for $719. The Little Church of the West, meanwhile, has a $1,099 Till Death Do Us Part package letting couples choose between a traditional minister, Elvis, Johnny Cash or a zombie minister, all according to the same nevadabusiness.com report.
